Backup of SQL Server fails with error 5 [Cannot open backup
device 'drive:\foldername'. Operating system error 5(Access is denied.).]
When running a backup to a folder or a restore from a folder with a default installation of Microsoft SQL server 2005 of newer
[express], an operating system error 5 might occur.
The default SQL Server service is running with the user account [NTAUTHORITY\NetworkService] or [NT Service\MSSQLSERVER]. Modify rights to the drive:\foldername so the SQL Server Service has read or write rights.
