Quickly query a Microsoft SQL database for column information

This T-SQL statement lists the following information about a Microsoft SQL Server :

TABLE_CATALOG	TABLE_SCHEMA	TABLE_NAME

COLUMN_NAME	ORDINAL_POSITION	COLUMN_DEFAULT

IS_NULLABLE	DATA_TYPE	CHARACTER_MAXIMUM_LENGTH

CHARACTER_OCTET_LENGTH	NUMERIC_PRECISION	NUMERIC_PRECISION_RADIX

NUMERIC_SCALE	DATETIME_PRECISION	CHARACTER_SET_CATALOG

CHARACTER_SET_SCHEMA	CHARACTER_SET_NAME	COLLATION_CATALOG

COLLATION_SCHEMA	COLLATION_NAME	DOMAIN_CATALOG

DOMAIN_SCHEMA	DOMAIN_NAME

The script works with all MSSQL database versions from SQL server 2000 and newer. It uses the sample database AdventureWorks availabe for: SQL server 2008 r2, SQL server 2012, SQL server 2014, SQL server 2016, SQL server 2017, SQL server 2019 and SQL server 2022
