ICT systems worldwide use a lot of electricity to communicate or even to store all e-mails and messages. Perhaps you can check whether you should always have your entire e-mail archive available in the Cloud. Every email or message, even from years ago, that must be constantly available 24/7 continues to use electricity and therefore emit CO2.
The following certificates show that trees have been planted through the beautiful Microsoft Eden Reforestation Projects initiative. Not only are trees being planted for our earth, but the local population is also getting secure jobs.
Participants in this tree planting program must earn 10,000 points after which a real tree will be planted in Kenya. After each tree is planted, the points start over at zero. It takes 20,000 points to plant a second tree, 30,000 points to plant a third tree, 40,000 points to plant a fourth tree, and 50,000 points to plant a fifth tree. Each additional tree after the fifth tree requires 50,000 points.
